American General Life and Accident Insurance Company is recruiting a Data Mining Analyst for Information Based Marketing department to analyze customer and market data to develop actionable information and recommendations for database programs across distribution channels that supports Senior Management decision-making. Conduct geo-demographic, data mining, campaign/program analyses to support market and customer segmentation, product sequencing, and statistical modeling. The position is located at the American General Center in Nashville, TN. Relocation assistance is not available.

• Perform data mining/analysis to identify distinct, actionable marketing segments and recommend revenue-enhancing strategies across product lines and distribution channels.
• Develop and evaluate systems requirements and oversee the implementation of technical requirements to support the growth of the marketing data warehouse analytical capabilities and make recommendations on same.
• Develop and maintain SQL Code library for use by analyst within the group.
• Employ statistical analysis and data mining techniques to model and target customers for cross-sell and up-sell marketing programs across distribution channels.
• Develop market and customer analyses to support the company’s growth initiatives with recommendations on target audience(s) for customer acquisition, cross-sell and up-sell.
• Review and maintain functional integrity of models and databases to ensure accuracy.
• Develop AdHoc site and geo-demographic analyses.
• Develop, prepare and analyze campaign and database marketing programs providing actionable information and recommendations for improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree with major in Marketing, MIS, Mathematics or business related field.
• Minimum 7 years related experience.
• SQL and SAS programming experience required.
• Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Access and Excel, Cognos, and Impromptu and experience with Claritas Mapping is a plus.
• Superior analytical capability, time management and organizational skills.
• Must have the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable business user information.
