Job Description

Our client is looking for a Technical Director to join their US operations, and will be reporting to the US Technical Director. Based in San Francisco, this position will be responsible for all pre-sales, support, training, and consulting activities in the Western region of the United States and Canada. You must be someone that can do a broad range of consulting. Your key skill will be building predictive models. You MUST have broad and deep skills in modeling, and be someone who has actually done it at an expert level. You may have a background working for companies like Fair Isaac, Cognos, PWC, EDS, etc.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of data mining, machine learning, and pattern analysis techniques.
• 5+ years of work experience in enterprise software training, or consulting.
• 5+ years of work experience in enterprise software pre-sales.
• Knowledge of commercial data mining and statistics software.
• Experience with RDBMS packages (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, MS-SQL, etc.)
• Experience with developing software (C++, Java, & VB preferred)
• Experience with a commercial software engineering lifecycle (MRDs, PRDs, functional specifications, etc.).
• Experience as a project leader or manager.

The ideal candidate will also have

• Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science (preferred) or other scientific field.
• A passion for creatively solving ill-defined and difficult problems.
• Great communication skills (speaking and written).
• The ability to break down and discuss complex subjects at a wide variety of levels from CEOs to scientists, from marketing managers to IT managers.
• The judgment and balance to manage several tasks simultaneously.
• The desire to work in a fast-paced, small software company.
