Job Description
A key position reporting directly to the Vice President
of Sales and Database Marketing providing strategic
marketing and tactical support which drive this direct
marketing organization’s database penetration,
acquisition marketing, and efficiency goals. The
successful candidate will play a key role in managing
the infrastructure and processes for data analysis,
market research, campaign management, lead distribution
and other database functions. As the company continues
to experience significant growth, this position is
critical will shape the customer data management functions.
Responsibilities

Identifies marketing opportunities and testing strategies to optimize resources and improve key marketing metrics.

Provides strategic direction and management of the following key areas: database marketing, data mining, list management, forecasting, lead distribution, life-time value, prospecting database market research, and statistical analysis.

Manages the analysis of existing data to build and track customer profiles with respect to existing and proposed products/services

Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services.

Conduct and/or manage direct marketing analytics including response modeling, regression analysis, customer profiling and segmentation, needs analysis, predictive modeling, and other types of quantitative and qualitative strategic business analysis.

Oversee database management to ensure integrity and accuracy of information; ensures information is leveraged to support marketing programs.

Ensures effective control of marketing results and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are within designated budgets.

Evaluate response analytics to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

Manage Market Research to include: Qualitative primary research, secondary research, analysis of quantitative primary research including survey data.

Applies statistical and quantitative analysis to current and developing processes and marketing strategies.

As a service provider to internal customers, must have the ability to work both independently and as a part of several cross-functional teams simultaneously.

Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.

Manage three direct reports in the Database Marketing Group; List Manager, Senior Marketing Analyst, and Lead Distribution Manager.

Continuously strives to improve the quality and effectiveness of all communications.

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of team members. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Can handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining excellent and accurate work products.
Requirements
-
A minimum of 7 years of business experience in the direct marketing/direct response industry. Preferred experience in an outbound call center, commission sales environment with a focus on database marketing, business intelligence, CRM, and other data management practices.

The candidate must have a bachelor degree with a proclivity towards technical expertise in Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

Experience with, and/or implementation of a CRM software solution (Seibel, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Onyx, etc.)

Experience with techniques and tools relevant to statistic modeling and marketing analysis including a high level of proficiency with relational databases and statistical/business intelligence software such as: SQL, Access, Excel, SAS, SPSS, MicroStrategy, Brio, OLAP tools, etc.

Experience conducting marketing and business analysis including customer profiling and segmentation, needs analysis, market sizing, and other types of quantitative and qualitative strategic business analysis

Knowledge of / experience with, statistical principles, methodologies, techniques (example: Chaid, Logistic Regression, etc.)

Interpersonal Skills - Candidate must be a high energy, can-do person who can operate in a fast-moving environment. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.

Entrepreneurial –This person must have a strong sense of urgency, outstanding project and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
